Letters From a Mate is a monthly letter subscription service operated as a sole trader business based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. You can reach us at support@lettersfromamate.com.

What Information We Collect

We collect personal information when you subscribe or purchase a gift subscription. This includes:

• Your name and email address
• The recipient's name and postal address (for delivery)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card details)

If you sign up to our email list without purchasing, we collect your email address only.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Process and fulfil your subscription or gift order
• Send you confirmation and shipping updates
• Contact you about your subscription if needed
• Send occasional emails about the letter (you can unsubscribe any time)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted services to run the business:

• Stripe — payment processing. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by us.
• Beehiiv — email list management. Your email address is stored on Beehiiv's platform.

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

Postal Addresses

Recipient addresses are used solely for the purpose of posting your letter each month. We store them securely and do not use them for any other purpose. If you cancel your subscription, we delete your address records within 30 days.

Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to any legal obligations)
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time

Our website uses minimal cookies — only what's necessary for the site to function. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

If we make any meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We won't spring anything on you.
