The Service

Letters From a Mate is a physical monthly letter subscription. Each month, subscribers receive a handcrafted letter and curated inserts delivered by post to an Australian address. The service is operated as a sole trader business based in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are available on a monthly, six-month, or twelve-month basis. Pricing is displayed on the website at the time of purchase.

By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable subscription fee. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Dispatch schedule: Letters are dispatched around the 23rd–25th of each month. To receive a letter in a given month, your subscription must be active by the 15th of that month. Subscriptions made after the 15th will receive their first letter the following month.

Gift Subscriptions

Gift subscriptions are purchased by one person on behalf of another. The purchaser is responsible for providing an accurate delivery address. Letters From a Mate is not responsible for non-delivery due to an incorrect address being supplied.

Cancellations & Refunds

Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you won't be charged again, and any letter already in production for the current month will still be sent.

Six-month and twelve-month subscriptions are paid upfront. These are non-refundable once the first letter has been dispatched, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.

If something goes wrong with your delivery — lost in the post, damaged, or otherwise — get in touch and we'll make it right.

Delivery

We deliver to Australian addresses only at this stage. Delivery is via standard Australia Post. We are not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post once the letter has been dispatched.

If a letter is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, we'll contact you to arrange redelivery. Additional postage costs may apply.

Content

The letters and inserts are written and curated by the Letters From a Mate team. All content is original and remains the intellectual property of Letters From a Mate. You may not reproduce or distribute the content without permission.

The letters deal honestly with life — work, relationships, getting older, the ordinary and the difficult. They are not professional advice of any kind — not medical, financial, legal, or psychological. They're just one bloke writing to another.

Your Details

We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If the service is not delivered as described, you may be entitled to a remedy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let subscribers know by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
